It ain't what you do…it’s the way that you do it!
On 25th October, one of our original BOBS coaches, Jack Roberts, ran the Beachy Head marathon, raising funds to support Culture Shift.
Not only did Jack raise an amazing total of over £2000 (more than double his target) he did so in a way which echoes so many core Culture Shift values at the same time….
1. Connection and collaboration - Jack trained and ran the marathon as a team with his wife Lara, supporting and encouraging each other, sharing the highs lows and creating memories together. Jack also collaborated with the Culture Shift team to maximise the reach of the fundraising campaign.
2. Fun - Even when tackling something physically and mentally challenging, Jack demonstrated that there is always time for good humour, creating messages and film updates to share his marathon journey via social media and being interviewed on BBC Radio Sussex.
3. Community - let’s be honest, Jack could easily have run the marathon for it’s own sake but he saw it as an opportunity to support others, to contribute to a ‘bigger picture’ and we are VERY grateful that he did!
Not everyone wants to or is capable of running a marathon and we have huge admiration for everyone who does - but the money raised through Jack’s marathon run will support EVERYONE to access creative activity.
“Culture Shift is like family to me and I have seen first-hand the impact that their work has so it feels brilliant that we have managed to raise funds to support this. Big thanks for all the support and encouragement and to everyone who donated, it means a lot to me and I know the money will be used to make a difference!” Jack Roberts.
