Our core staff team are involved in all aspects of planning and delivering activity across our programmes, bringing varied skills and experience alongside our freelance creatives.

Julia Roberts
Chief Executive Officer
​
Julia has been part of Culture Shift since it was first established in 2011, becoming CEO in 2023. She is a theatre specialist with a portfolio of experience which includes working as a Performing Arts consultant for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, Creative Agent for Creative Partnerships Sussex and Surrey and Programme Manager and Live Arts Creative Producer for Carousel; a disability arts organisation based in Brighton and a Theatre Quality Assessor for Arts Council England.
Julia also works as an artist internationally for The International Schools Theatre Association and founded Uninterrupted Theatre Collective in 2020.

Luke Reed-George

Luke joined the Culture Shift staff team in 2022, having worked as a freelance coach in the pilot phase of our ‘Being our Best Selves’ programme. With a degree in Psychology and Criminology from the University of the West of England (UWE), Luke has almost a decade of experience working with vulnerable people and those who face significant health inequalities, including high risk people on probation during five years with the probation service and on acute mental health wards for the NHS.

Luke is also a health and fitness enthusiast and qualified sports coach.

Clare Towner
Programme Assistant

Clare joined the Culture Shift staff team in 2024, having worked as a freelancer on our Carers O’Clock and Holiday Activity and Food programmes. Clare has gained many years of experience working in primary education across East Sussex and also created and ran her own successful hospitality business.
​
Clare is also an expert baker and cook.
