Our mission

Culture Shift aims to bring individuals and communities together to make connections and thrive through access to meaningful creative opportunities.

Our approach
-
creative, using multiple artforms as a starting point to build skills, confidence and connections, enabling important conversations and expression of feelings and ideas.
-
strategic, working in a wide variety of community settings in response to need, bringing people together who may otherwise face barriers to inclusion so that they can co-create, participate in and learn from shared creative experiences.
-
collaborative, listening to and learning from lived experience, creative experts and project partners, embracing opportunities to develop our skills, extend our work and share good practice.
-
safe and caring, building relationships and establishing trust as a foundation from which to make a positive difference to the health, wellbeing and long-term opportunities of our beneficiaries.
-
happy, based in the belief that whilst we take our work seriously, there are always opportunities for humour and joy in the process.

"To celebrate and investigate, through art, the human condition, is a human right. To share and participate in artistic experiences. To express ourselves; our basic identity, our shared humanity. Yet whole sections of our society are denied this basic right.
Art is not the exclusive property of a privileged elite; it belongs to us all. In a deeply fractured world, we desperately need that which brings us together. We urgently need to shift culture.”
