activities through lockdown
In line with government advice, the Culture Shift team have been working from home throughout lockdown and keeping in touch with each other and our partners and stakeholders regularly.
Much of our project activity has been postponed until the current crisis passes but with the support of our funders, we have been able to develop ways to maintain some activity, staying focused on our core values of Community, Connection and Creativity.
Current activity includes:
Being Our Best Selves (BOBS) - resources to support physical and mental health, particularly for those who are most at risk of social isolation and poor health outcomes.
Carers O'Clock - resources specifically created to support the mental health and wellbeing of carers, both paid and unpaid. We are hosting fortnightly virtual cafe sessions for carers to come together, alternating this with resource bulletins that include an array of activities to support Carers.
Delta 7 - we are supporting the band to continue to meet regularly for virtual rehearsals and songwriting sessions.
Space To Create - our team of artists are delivering online content for children, initially those already part of the programme but now more widely. These sessions are led by experts, each 30 minute film contains a range of activities that families can take part in from home.
Word Cafe SoundBites - a series of short videos from professionals who use language in their work, these are going out weekly through schools and on YouTube, encouraging young people to join in the activities over 5 weeks. The videos feature songwriting, Graphic design and cartoons, scriptwriting, poetry and illustration.
We will be communicating regularly through our website, social media channels and are in direct communication with our stakeholder network. Please join our mailing list to receive updates.
If you have ideas too, we'd love to hear them. Contact us via email info@cultureshift.org.uk or via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Linked In.
Thank you to the Chalk Cliff Trust, Sussex Community Foundation and Arts Council England for their support during this challenging time. We are so very grateful that we are able to continue to deliver activities which promote wellbeing, and to remain to be there with, and for our communities.
Stay safe and well and we will see you soon!
