Careers & skills Engagement
students + industry + creative Challenge = Career insight
We facilitate bespoke online and in person careers events, offering opportunity for employer engagement, careers education for children, young people and adult learners in schools, colleges and SEN settings across Sussex. Our aim is always to empower all our participants by giving them the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight through our interactive formats and resources. Here is an outline of what we offer:
BESPOKE Careers events
Creative Cafes form the heart of our flagship careers and skills programme. They are lively, interactive events using real life scenarios to showcase professionals and inspire students as they consider their own choices and career journeys. Events can be designed and delivered online or face to face.
Building employability skills, confidence and knowledge about the available routes into different industries and professions, by connecting young people to local industry experts and practitioners whom generously give their time to support our work and inspire this next generation. Please visit our Creative Cafe page for more info.
MICRO Word, Creative Arts and Numeracy Cafes
These resources are designed to offer affordable career engagement opportunities to primary and secondary schools and colleges. A spin off from our Creative Cafe model, they assist in developing skills and increase understanding of the practical application of learned skills within key areas of literacy, numeracy and creativity.
We ran a very successful pilot for primary careers education, which aimed to deliver innovative sessions both face to face and online within targeted primary schools to:
widen aspiration and increase confidence
increase awareness of different types of jobs across a sector and/or using different skills

For Careers Week 2021, we worked with Careers East Sussex and Always Possible to produce and facilitate four online events focusing on work within the Digital and Creative, and Health and Social care sectors.
