Current Programmes > Evaluation

From large scale HLF programmes to innovative R & D projects, Culture Shift works with clients to design bespoke evaluation strategies.

We often use a Theory of Change framework to assist clients in defining goals, outcomes and success criteria. We employ action research and participatory evaluation practices and are experts at designing evaluation tools that capture a wide range of voices, including those whose experience is often marginalised or neglected.

Our strengths:

We are good listeners: being responsive and innovative in our approach to partnership and working with others, we find solutions that answer specific needs and meet outcomes for arts and non-arts partners.

We encourage reflection: we embed evaluation into project planning so that data gathering is as light touch as possible and to ensure that all stakeholders can inform the process.

We think creatively: we bring creative approaches to the design of review tools to facilitate a full and rich process.

Clients include the Charleston Trust, the National Maritime Museum, Theatre Centre, Books Beyond Words and Cultural Community Solutions.

We have worked with Culture Shift on a number of projects and have consistently found them to be extremely proactive, receptive and responsive. Each member of the team with whom we have worked has been quick to understand the aims of our work, and our delivery, and been able to provide a rich and meaningful “scaffolding” of evaluation and enquiry around our projects. This has helped us, as a company, to attain a deeper – and objective – understanding about the work we are making, and enabled us to report to funders in a more informed and rigorous manner.
