WELLBEING for young people
Conversation + creativity + CONNECTION = wellbeing
This year sees our work with young people on wellbeing come together under the banner of Discovery College, working in partnership with Recovery College, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and CAMHS in East Sussex.
Discovery College is a place for children and young people in East Sussex to have new experiences and learn more about emotional wellbeing and particular mental health challenges. Young people are involved throughout the design and delivery of programmes which offer a range of activities delivered in the
community. Courses normally run for 8 weeks and are open to any young person whom self identifies as needing support. All courses are FREE.
We are working to help expand the programme, bringing new arts partners on board and incorporating our schools-based wellbeing programmes Telling Your Story.
Achievements through lockdown include; helping set up online arts courses with music provider Lifesize, Photoworks and Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, alongside work with Ross Clifford at Junction44 Design and Chloe Taylor from Little Blue House Web in co-design and production of the new Discovery College website with young people.
We think it's a beautiful website, packed with resources that we
hope can help lots of young people successfully manage their mental health through any challenging times.

You can also find an online photography exhibition showcasing the artwork of young people in the Photo Club, facilitated by Anis Joslin from Photoworks Reaching Across: making photography during lockdown | Photoworks
TELLING YOUR STORYoffers young people in secondary schools a safe and non-judgemental space to let off steam, be creative, explore new ways to express themselves and what matters to them and expand their friendship groups. These 8-10 week programmes now sit within Discovery College. We work closely with schools to identify young people that would benefit from participation. Sessions are led by artists working, where possible, with a peer mentor. For further information please email us firstname.lastname@example.org
