Creative Cafes 2019/20

Creative Cafés are dynamic half day events where students meet a range of employers in an informal café-style setting. Structured around a series of tasks, with 6-10 young people per employer, students engage with all the employers through short 5-minute ‘speed dating’ conversations or tasks, before electing to join two employers to do a half hour practical challenge.

The Creative Café offers a flexible format that can address different employment sectors and be tailored to meet the needs of any cohort of students. It can be booked by one school or a number of schools and accommodate as few as 20 or up to 100 students. All employers are well briefed and supported to take part in the events.

It’s been unique in my experience. These events have enabled pupils to really engage with the providers on a much more individual level.

Thanks to funding from the Careers and Enterprise Company, distributed via the East Sussex Careers Hub, Culture Shift will be running 20 Creative Cafés across East Sussex between Spring 2019 and July 2020.

More details to follow soon.

We are always looking for contributors for Creative Café events. Café contributors value the opportunity to interact with young people in a creative and supported environment. Taking part in a Creative Café is an excellent CPD opportunity and a chance for your company to demonstrate corporate social responsibility.

If you are able to volunteer half a day of your time to inspire the next generation in your industry, please contact Catherine Orbach on catherine@cultureshift.org.uk or call 07796 306995.
