Organisational Development Consultant

13 November 2017

Culture Shift is a non-profit arts organisation that works with people at the margins of society, providing opportunities for personal and community transformation.

We aspire to an organisational culture in which individuals are self-managing and practice shared leadership, inspired by the work of Frederic Laloux.

We have a strong track record in delivering ambitious, cross-sector arts programmes that impact positively on people’s lives. We combine this with a healthy portfolio of consultancy work spanning evaluation, resource development, facilitation and creative consultation.

Following 5 years of successful delivery, we have been awarded funds from Arts Council England to undertake a programme of organisational development. As a result, we are looking to engage a consultant to work with us at a time of change and consolidation.

The successful consultant will:

  • Support the team of 4 part time staff, and 4 non-executive directors, to better understand our organisational strengths and weaknesses, along with the opportunities and threats presented by a rapidly changing funding landscape
  • Facilitate a deeper understanding of the business potential in our combined skills, passions and capacities in order to take the organisation into a sustainable future
  • Help us develop an organisational strategy, structure and appropriate governance to meet our needs at this time
  • Be available to work with us over a period of several months.

We would like to work with someone who is:

  • Excited by, and sympathetic to, our organisational mission and values
  • Intrigued by our organisational structure and aspirations to non-hierarchical management
  • A flexible thinker, skilled at combining creativity and ‘soft-skills’ with financial rigour
  • Equally good at big picture and detail
  • Excellent at communication and interpersonal dynamics at all levels
  • Respectful of our particular organisational culture in order to help us find solutions that work for us.

We anticipate that this contract will involve up to 5 days work over a period of several months.
