Funding success for Arts Connect 2

7 July 2014

Building on the success of our Arts Connect programme in 2013 – 14, Culture Shift has been commissioned by East Sussex County Council to deliver Arts Connect 2, connecting people with learning disabilities and autism, and their carers, with arts and cultural activity in their communities through a range of arts activities.

A user-led group of 12-15 Arts Connect Ambassadors will help design, promote and facilitate a county wide programme of activity.

Nine Get Connected events will take place – lively networking events, held in cultural and community venues, offering people with learning disabilities and their support workers, and arts and cultural providers, a chance to meet, share information about events and opportunities, take part in arts activities and showcase creative achievements.

A series six of three week creative taster courses will offer a chance to sample different arts activities.

These activities will be underpinned by a volunteer skills development programme which creates a route for volunteers to support the programme and develop their art facilitation skills.
