Culture Shift helping to make the garden grow at Grangemead

27 June 2019

Culture Shift has been delighted to work alongside the University of Brighton’s Community 21 on an ambitious project to co-design the new garden at Grangemead Care Home, working with East Sussex County Council staff and the many people who use the centre for day services and respite care. Read more about the project here.

Over a period of 2 years, the garden has been transformed from a concrete blank canvas to a fantastic multi-purpose, accessible space, including an outdoor kitchen, pond and gallery, many raised planting beds, and seating areas and an accessible makerspace, named the Cabin.

In spite of a downpour of British summer rain, the garden was officially launched on the 12th June. Official guests were joined by Grangemead staff and friends and family and the party was complete with entertainment provided by Delta 7 and Daniel Wakeford.

Culture Shift is proud to be working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and Community 21 and looks forward to future plans and new opportunities.
