Conversation + creativity + CONNECTION = wellbeing

Discovery College is a place for young people in East Sussex to have new experiences and learn more about emotional wellbeing and particular mental health challenges. Young people are involved throughout the design and delivery of programmes which offer a range of activities delivered in community spaces across East Sussex.  It is managed by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Culture Shift has been working with the team since Spring 2020 to support the programme, in particular bringing on board new arts partners , expanding the reach of activity across the county, and supporting training and networking for the team that delivers the programme (peer mentors, subject specialists and mental health practitioners).

Arts partners involved to date in the programme include Audio Active, Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, Circle of Life Rediscovery, De La Warr Pavilion, East Sussex Libraries, Lifesize Music, Photoworks, Priority 1-54, Tech Resort

July 2022 was been a month of highlights after a difficult first year adapting activity around lockdowns. DisCo peers led a workshop at the school annual mental health conference in early July and later this month A Voice That’s Mine – is the annual gathering and celebration for all involved in Discovery College.
