Who we are > Culture Shift

At Culture Shift we put creativity to work to create positive change.

Culture Shift creates dynamic partnerships where the creative and cultural sector work with community, business and education partners to produce bespoke, creative, action-based solutions.

A Community Interest Company, Culture Shift was established in 2011 by the people behind Creative Partnerships in Sussex and Surrey.

Recognised for our energy, connection-making and rigour, and well-regarded by partners cross-sector, our experience cements our belief that creativity is a powerful catalyst for change.

Catherine Orbach, Director

Catherine is an experienced arts professional with a sound understanding of the strategic context for the arts. She leads on a significant amount of Culture Shift’s project development across education, health and community sectors. Catherine has a real flair for project development, enjoying the process of developing and nurturing new ideas with partners and making them happen. Catherine is driven by a desire to create opportunities for people to participate in the arts and for a wider recognition of the role the arts can play in our lives.

Catherine has a degree in Fine Art (University of Edinburgh) and previously worked at Tate Liverpool, as part of a team that set up a pioneering gallery education programme for the Tate in Merseyside and the wider Northwest. Catherine worked at the De La Warr Pavilion before becoming Director of Creative Partnerships in 2004, then establishing Culture Shift with Cindy Cox in 2011.
