Get into Heritage at Birling Gap, March 2018

An Arts Connect course for learning disabled adults – learn new skills and have fun with new friends by getting outside and seeing and doing creative things.

This course is the second Get Into Heritage course designed to open up heritage spaces for people with learning disabilities.

Thursdays, 11am-2pm

1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th March 2018

Birling Gap, East Dean, East Sussex, BN20 0AB

This course is for anyone who likes being outside, exploring and learning, seeing and doing creative things.

Each week we will explore the natural landscape of the cliffs, beach and downlands using creative strategies to respond to what we see and find out. We will learn about the people who have worked and lived here through the displays in the visitor centre and the history of the lighthouse. There will be gentle walking outside as well as a warm indoor space to make and do things in. A brilliant combination of fresh air and arts and heritage activities!

The lead tutor on this 5 week course is Anne Colvin who specialises in movement and visual art. She will be supported by members of the learning team at Birling Gap.

Participants should wear warm, comfortable clothing to the sessions and appropriate footwear. We also welcome you to bring a packed lunch.

The course is open to learning disabled people (18+). This five week course costs £25. Please contact us if you would like to attend but have difficulty meeting the cost.

To book, contact Elli at Culture Shift or phone 01273 478558.
